Robert Ivy: The Man Of Impact

Robert Ivy was the principal from the year 1981 to 1996 at Dean/Dale, Dean and Ivy, and Critic for numerous national publications. He is currently the executive vice president and the CEO of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He has received the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters (MIAL). He is the first architect to be awarded this type of an award. This act of recognizing talents has made Mississippi outstanding as the country. Prominent individuals who have received a similar reward in the past include artist Walter Anderson, actor Morgan Freeman, and writer Eudora Welty. Mr Ivy received many congratulations messages from famous people like the President of MIAL, Nancy LaForge and also from Carl Elefante, the president of AIA.

After joining AIA in the year 2011, Mr Ivy has improved the presentation of the organization in the whole world. It is only during his time that the organization has registered the highest number of members in its entire history of about 160 years.

Robert Ivy has also received other awards in the previous years. During his reign as editor in chief, the Architectural Record received many publishing industry honors. These honors came as a result of Ivy being committed, focused and extra efforts that he put in the Record. The Architectural Record earned the following honors; the American Society of Magazine, the Premier Magazine Journalism award and Editors National Magazine Award for general excellence. This is not common for the professional journal. Also, the architectural Record received 7 Ozzies, 26 Jesse H. Neal Award, Folio Design Award and finally the 2008 MPA Digital Award for the website of the year. In the year 2009, Robert Ivy earned the Crain Award. This Award is the highest recognition of a person in American Business Media.

In the year 2010, the national architecture fraternity, Alpha Rho Chi, voted in a large number to name Mr Ivy as the Master Architect. Robert Ivy was proposed because he effectively communicated the design value. Robert Ivy is among the seven prominent individuals to receive Noel Polk Award in 100-years architecture fraternity history. Also, Ivy is the only architect that was selected in the 21st century.
