Deirdre Baggot is a United States citizen living in Denver, Colorado. She has a science Bachelor’s degree in nursing, which she acquired from the University of Southern Illinois. She proceeded to the University of Loyola where she received her masters in Business Administration. Deirdre also holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Colorado University. Miss Deirdre has been in academic medical care for about ten years. She worked with the Northwestern Memorial Hospital after which she joined the Michigan University System as a leader who played very significant roles. Deirdre Baggot has served as a Senior Vice President and as an intern head for episode-based payments for six years with the National Consulting Firm. In addition to that Deirdre Baggot has also written about 20 materials on bundled payments. Basing our findings on one of her articles let us look into a law that was passed some time ago.
The Affordable Care Act that was passed in 2013 aims at ensuring that patients receive services without having to spend a lot of unnecessary funds. Upon implementation of this law, some facilities have already started registering some positive feedbacks. The United Healthcare earlier this year came forward with the results that since it was passed (the act), they have experienced a decrease in the number of re-admissions’ and post-complications. That’s not all; the medical fields have also affirmed the reduction in mortality rate among other outcomes.
A bundled payment has proven to have long-term effects. The amount of power that data accessing offers can take charge from now up to 15 years to come. Episode-based payments not only gives assurance of better and universal services, but it also enables patients to take control of all their affairs’. The number of patients coming forward as a result of the accessibility of their data is quite high.

The stats show that businesses who pursue gender-diversity tend to outperform other companies by a margin of 15 percent on average. Companies that embrace ethnic diversity tend to outperform non-diverse companies by at least a margin of 35 percent on average. The main, and perhaps most obvious reason, is that diverse companies are more open to new ideas. However, the fact remains that too few women hold C-level positions in major corporations.
Susan McGalla has her own success story. She had to work hard to get to where she is today. Her story is that of many women who must struggle extra hard to reach higher levels within their corporations. It is women like McCalla who achieve, and then reach back to make sure they’re helping blaze a trail for other women to follow.
She credits much of her knowledge and comfort level in having worked with men and women on all levels. Growing up with a father that coached football, and two brothers, helped lay a solid foundation for expecting a lot from herself. Nothing came easy. She had to work for what she received.
That tough mental attitude gave her the muscle to climb the ranks of American Eagle Outfitters. She can remember her early days when all the executives around her were men. Despite the competition, she became the company’s president. She took her skills forward to found P3 Executive Consulting. She is also the Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Development with the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. There are a lot of moving parts with respect to professional sports e-commerce and merchandising.
Interesting enough, it is not that there are not enough initiatives and support mechanisms in place to support women’s growth in leadership roles. Support groups do provide networking opportunities and platforms for strategizing. The real problem in brining more women into the fold may be that women may not have as much support for other women needed.
This is the one element that can slow down true change from happening. One can only expect Susan McCalla to continue down her path of excellence, and to continue to lead the way in opening doors for women.
